Your USDT are frozen by Tether and you don’t know what to do?
In the first four months of 2025 alone, as VD&A reports, there were seven times more requests for assistance to unfreeze blocked Tether (USDT) accounts than there were in all of 2024. The huge increase is worrying, as the USDT owners are more and more often left in the cold by the Tether company. Unfreezing the USDT addresses is extremely difficult for the average Tether user. There is no clearly defined organisation, where the person can direct his claim to. Communicating with Tether, whether in the British Virgin Islands or in El Salvador, proves to be extremely slow and difficult. So how can you unfreeze your USDT address if it has been blocked by Tether?
Why is Tether blocking so many addresses lately?
First of all, let’s see why is Tether freezing addresses after all. Probably most often it is when law enforcement agencies are requesting an address to be blocked (banned). Many times for example, if USDT theft is reported, the police authorities may request Tether to freeze certain addresses. Unfortunately, as we recently saw with Telegram’s founder Pavel Durov, state agencies may often request banning certain services without real legitimate reason for that. We believe that many USDT addresses may have been also blocked upon illegal requests.
The second reason for freezing an USDT address is when Tether simply decides so (don’t expect any reasoning or even logic). The power that Tether has is virtually unlimited. Whether an address is blocked for legitimate reasons or purely on random basis remains a mystery.
VD&A and it’s special legal unit may have the right solution for you
Due to extremely high demand, VD&A has formed a special unit of lawyers and consultants, who believe to be able to deal with the challenge of unfreezing Tether accounts. This is of course not always possible. In the majority of the cases however, the company’s complex legal approach is sufficient to unfreeze the addresses. Each case has to be analysed individually and certain legal actions taken in the right jurisdictions. Filing the case through the right jurisdiction is very important. Failure to do this is usually the main administrative obstacle for unfreezing tether addresses.
In many cases also, a professionally drafted legal letter, presented to Tether through the right channels, may also prove to be sufficient for the address to be unblocked.
Privacy concerns
Many times, the clients, whose addresses have been banned, are feeling like that they have done something wrong. After all, when funds are frozen, then there should be something fishy with the their owner, right? Well, wrong. Nowadays even fully regulated banks are blocking customers’ accounts, without legitimate reason. And for Tether, hidden under the palms in the Caribbean, to freeze some of its addresses is the easiest thing to do. In many cases, it may be also profitable for Tether, especially if the rightful owner doesn’t show up to claim his funds.

In all cases however, the owners of the blocked USDT do require high degree of privacy. This is something that VD&A are especially good at. Operating from an EU jurisdiction, the lawyers of VD&A can ensure maximum legal compliance, at the same time ensuring virtually full privacy for their customers.
Travel and personal meetings
The lawyers from VD&A are often travelling to the client’s place of residence in order to furnish the necessary paperwork. In cases when the frozen address(es) contain(s) more then 20 million USDT, a personal meeting is always required. This can take place either in the offices of VD&A in Europe or in the client’s country.
Chinese clients with frozen USDT addresses from Dubai
VD&A understand the importance of swift reaction when it comes to unblocking USDT addresses. In 2025, the majority of the cases are being reported by Chinese citizens, operating from Dubai. And a great deal from these cases also lead to the Chinese police authorities or Tether itself. So if you are a Chinese business or private individual, operating from the United Arab Emirates, you can email VD&A directly at tetherdubai@bglaw.eu.
